CRL was created because of the experience that CRL’s founder had while caring for her own son, Camden. When he was two years old, Camden was diagnosed with a spinal cord tumor. It was unbelievably frustrating that it took six weeks to obtain a special seat in order to bathe him comfortably and safely. This experience made our Founder realize that there are many other Maine families like hers; facing the tremendous emotional and financial stress of caring for a critically ill child, waiting weeks or months for a piece of equipment or a service that should be readily available.
